In a shocking incident, Sachin Kurmi, a leader of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) faction led by Ajit Pawar, was brutally murdered by unidentified assailants in Mumbai’s Byculla area late Friday night. According to the Mumbai Police, Kurmi, who served as the General Secretary of NCP’s Mumbai unit, was attacked with a sharp-edged weapon.
The police stated that the incident occurred around 12:30 a.m. near the MHADA colony in Byculla. “As soon as we were informed, officers arrived at the scene and rushed Kurmi to JJ Hospital, where he was declared dead by doctors,” a police official said. The body has been taken into custody for a post-mortem examination.
Initial investigations suggest that 2 to 3 people may have been involved in the fatal attack. The attackers remain unidentified, and the motive behind the murder is still unclear. Authorities have registered a case, and a thorough investigation is now underway.
