Ekta Kapoor, Mom Shobha Booked For Objectional Scenes in Web Series

Ekta Kapoor and her mother Shobha have found herself in legal trouble following the filing of a case against her under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The complaint alleges that a web series ‘Gandi Baat’ produced by her, which aired on a streaming platform, contained inappropriate content that disrespects and objectifies minors. This has raised serious concerns about the portrayal of children in media.

As per the complaint, the web series originally streamed on ALT Balaji between February 2021 and April 2021, had obscene scenes involving minors. However, the controversial episode is not currently streaming on the OTT platform.

According to the information available, the case is pertaining to season 6 of the web series, which streams on ALT Balaji. The Mumbai Police lodged a case against Balaji Telefilm Limited, Ekta Kapoor, and Shobha Kapoor at the MHB police station. The producers have been charged under sections 295-A of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), the IT Act, and sections 13 and 15 of the POCSO Act.

The series in question reportedly includes scenes that some viewers and parents found disturbing, prompting them to take legal action. In response to the allegations, Ekta Kapoor has yet to issue an official statement.
