A case has been registered against actor Sharad Kapoor, known for his roles in films such as Josh, LOC Kargil, and Lakshya, for allegedly misbehaving and inappropriately touching a woman.
According to the Khar Police, a 32-year-old woman filed a complaint detailing the incident. The woman stated that she initially connected with Kapoor through Facebook, after which they communicated via video calls. Kapoor reportedly invited her to discuss a shooting project and sent her his location. However, upon arriving at the given address in Khar, she discovered it was not an office as stated but his residence.
The woman alleged that when she arrived at Kapoor’s third-floor apartment, a man opened the door, and Kapoor, from inside, called her to his bedroom. She further claimed that he misbehaved with her and forcibly touched her inappropriately. Later in the evening, Kapoor allegedly sent her a WhatsApp message using foul language.
Disturbed by the incident, the victim narrated her ordeal to a friend, who advised her to approach the police. She then filed a complaint at the Khar Police Station. An FIR has been registered against Sharad Kapoor under sections 74 (Assault or use of criminal force against a woman), 75 (Sexual harassment), and 79 (Insulting the modesty of a woman) of the Bhartiya Nyay Sanhita.
As of now, Sharad Kapoor has not issued any statement regarding the allegations. The investigation is ongoing.
