Violence erupted in Bangladesh following the death of opposition leader Usman Hadi, a critic of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s government. Late Thursday night, protesters forcibly entered and vandalized the offices of the country’s leading newspapers, The Daily Star and Prothom Alo, in Dhaka, setting them on fire. Police have deployed additional forces to bring the situation under control.
