Vikrant Massey Announces Retirement from Bollywood; Co-Stars and Fans React with Shock

Actor Vikrant Massey, known for his versatile performances in Indian cinema, has announced his decision to step away from Bollywood, leaving fans and industry colleagues stunned. On December 1, Massey shared an emotional note on social media explaining his choice to prioritize family life.

In his heartfelt post, Vikrant expressed gratitude for his journey in the film industry while revealing his plans to bid farewell after completing his last two films in 2025. He wrote:

“The last few years and beyond have been phenomenal. I thank each and every one of you for your indelible support. But as I move forward, I realize it’s time to recalibrate and go back home. As a Husband, Father & a Son. And also as an Actor. So, coming 2025, we would meet each other for one last time. Until time deems right. Last 2 movies and many years of memories. Thank you again. For everything and everything in between. Forever indebted.”

The announcement shocked many of Vikrant’s co-stars, who were unaware of his decision. Raashii Khanna, who recently worked with him in The Sabarmati Report, commented, “What? No!” Medha Shankr, who debuted alongside him in 12th Fail, expressed her disbelief with “???? What?”

Actress Sapna Pabbi wrote, “I hear you, I see you, I feel you. Congrats on finding and surrendering to purpose and dharma. More power to you.” Meanwhile, Akansha Ranjan Kapoor lamented, “What????? Sonu!! No 😢 you are one of the very few real actors we have left!!!!!! 💔”

Fans also flooded the comments section, sharing their disappointment and urging the actor to reconsider. One fan wrote, “Why would you do that..? There are hardly any actors like you. We need some good cinema.” Another pleaded, “One movie per year or one movie every 2-3 years is fine. Please do not stop your career in films.”

Vikrant Massey’s announcement has left a void in the hearts of his fans and the industry. Known for his authenticity and talent, Massey’s departure marks the end of an era for many who admired his work. As he prepares for his final two films, fans remain hopeful that this is merely a pause and not a permanent farewell.
