In a significant development, television star Rupali Ganguly has officially joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The announcement was made during a press conference held on Wednesday, May 1, in New Delhi. Rupali Ganguly, widely known for her role in the popular TV show “Anupamaa,” expressed her honor and gratitude upon joining the political party.

During the press conference, Ganguly stated, “I am so honored to be here. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has influenced me a lot. I am a big fan of PM Modi. BJP has been doing great work and therefore I wanted to join the BJP. I am very thankful to the party.” The actress was accompanied by political leaders Vinod Tawde and Anil Baluni.

While Rupali Ganguly has taken the step towards a political career, she has yet to confirm whether she will contest in the Lok Sabha elections of 2024. Her decision adds her to the list of celebrities like Kangana Ranaut and Arun Govil, who have joined the BJP this year.

This move follows Ganguly’s meeting with Prime Minister Modi earlier this year. In March, she shared her excitement on Instagram about meeting the Prime Minister, describing it as a dream come true. Ganguly expressed her admiration for Modi’s vision for a digitally global India and his transformative leadership.
