Tejashwi Yadav Defends Fish Meal Video During Navratri, Says Its A Day Before

Today, Tejashwi Yadav, a leader of the RJD, justified a video depicting him eating fish in a helicopter after some users accused him of consuming non-vegetarian food during Navratri. Navratri, a 10-day festival where devotees adhere to a strict vegetarian diet, began yesterday. Several internet users criticized the former deputy chief minister for potentially offending Hindus.

In response, Yadav clarified today that his post indicated the video was from April 8, a day before Navratri commenced.

“We uploaded this video to gauge the intelligence of BJP and Godi media followers, and our suspicions were confirmed,” stated Mr. Yadav. “The tweet clearly states the date as ‘Dinank,’ but what do the blindly loyal followers know? Sahni ji even mentioned about getting chilli,” he added.

The trolling commenced after the RJD leader shared a video last night featuring him and former minister Mukesh Sahni enjoying a meal together in a helicopter. The post, dated 08/04/2024, described having food in a helicopter amidst the election chaos. In the video, Mr. Yadav explained how they managed to grab a quick lunch amid the hectic campaign, showcasing the food they were eating, including fish and roti, sparking a debate over consuming non-vegetarian food during Navratri.

BJP MP Giriraj Singh criticized Mr. Yadav, labeling him a “seasonal Sanatani” while speaking to reporters this morning.

“Tejashwi Yadav is a ‘Seasonal Sanatani’ who indulges in appeasement politics. Many people, including Rohingyas and Bangladeshi infiltrators, came here during his father’s (Lalu Yadav) tenure. They practice appeasement politics while masquerading as Sanatan followers,” said the outspoken BJP leader.
