Shiv Sena, Congress and Sharad Pawar’s Party Finalise Seat Distribution in Maharashtra

In a significant development ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the political landscape in Maharashtra witnessed a major shift as three prominent parties, Shiv Sena, Congress, and Sharad Pawar’s faction, announced their seat-sharing arrangement for the crucial battleground.

Sanjay Raut, representing Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena faction, disclosed the distribution of seats during a press conference held in Mumbai. According to the agreement, Shiv Sena will contest on 21 Lok Sabha seats, while Congress will vie for 17 seats, leaving 10 constituencies for Sharad Pawar’s party.

This announcement comes after extensive negotiations among the parties and sets the stage for a closely contested electoral battle in Maharashtra. The pact was formalized at the press conference attended by NCP (SP) chief Sharad Pawar, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Uddhav Thackeray, and state Congress president Nana Patole.

With the Lok Sabha polls scheduled to be conducted in five phases from April 19 to May 20, the allocation of seats reflects the strategic alliances and political calculations made by the parties as they gear up for the electoral showdown in the state.
