Samantha Ruth Prabhu Opens Up About Post-Divorce Trolling: “Found Peace in Silence Amid Lies”

Renowned actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu has broken her silence on the intense trolling and public scrutiny she faced after her divorce from actor Naga Chaitanya in 2021. In a candid conversation with Galatta India, Samantha reflected on the harsh realities women encounter in patriarchal societies, especially after relationship setbacks.

“Unfortunately, we live in a society which is so patriarchal in nature, that anytime something goes wrong, a woman gets subjected to a lot more judgment and shaming—not just online, but even in real life,” Samantha said.

Addressing the rampant spread of untruths following her divorce, Samantha shared how she wrestled with the temptation to confront the rumors publicly but ultimately chose a path of resilience and inner peace. “Many things were said about me that were absolutely untrue. There were many times I wanted to come out and say, ‘This is not true,’ but I questioned what good it would bring,” she revealed.

The actress emphasized the fleeting nature of public opinion, stating, “You gain a bunch of people who are so fickle—they may love you for a moment, but they can just as easily turn against you. I decided to hold on to my truth and find solace in the support of my family and friends.”

Samantha also spoke about her personal journey to overcome the need for external validation. “All my life, I wanted to be loved and validated. But I’ve learned it’s okay if people believe things that aren’t true about me. What matters is that my loved ones know the truth,” she added.

The actress’s candid revelations resonated deeply with fans, showcasing her strength in navigating adversity with grace.

Meanwhile, Samantha’s ex-husband, Naga Chaitanya, is preparing for a new chapter in his life. The actor, who has been in a relationship with actress Sobhita Dhulipala for two years, got engaged in August. The couple is set to tie the knot on December 4 at Annapurna Studios in a private ceremony.

Both Samantha and Naga Chaitanya have moved forward in their personal and professional lives, proving that resilience and grace can triumph over adversity.
