Saif Ali Khan Is Battling A Court Battle Of Property Worth Rs 15,000 Cr

Actor Saif Ali Khan is battling a court battle over his family’s Bhopal property, which is said to be worth over Rs 15,000 crore, as he recuperates physically and psychologically from a horrific knife attack that occurred during a break-in at his Mumbai home.

According to the Enemy Property Act of 1968, the actor may lose his ancestral property to the government after the Madhya Pradesh High Court recently removed the hold on it.

The Flag Staff House, where the actor grew up, Noor-Us-Sabah Palace, Dar-Us-Salam, Bungalow of Habibi, Ahmedabad Palace, and Kohefiza Property are just a few of the properties owned by the actor’s family in Bhopal. This property was left to Mr. Khan by his grandmother, Sajida Sultan. Hamidullah Khan, the final Nawab of Bhopal, had a daughter named Sajida Sultan. In 1950, Abida Sultan, the eldest daughter of Hamidullah Khan, immigrated to Pakistan. Sajida, her sister, remained in India and wed Iftikhar Ali Khan Pataudi, Mr. Khan’s grandfather and the Nawab of Pataudi. Mr. Khan inherited the property that Sajida had inherited from her father. However, it was determined in 2015 that Abida was the legitimate heir to her father’s property, and since she moved to Pakistan, the government could take possession of it.

The recent order presents a new challenge for the family, as Mr. Khan, along with his mother and esteemed actress Sharmila Tagore, must work through this issue to recover their family estate. It is important to note that the Enemy Property Act permits the government to seize properties belonging to individuals who relocated to Pakistan following the Partition.
