Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha has finally got a bungalow. Gandhi had to vacate his official bungalow after being disqualified from Lok Sabha last year, but is now being offered a new bungalow, sources said.

For the first time 54-year-old Gandhi will hold a constitutional post. This is also the first time since 2014 that there is a Leader of Opposition.  

The Congress leader has been allocated Bungalow No 5, Sunehri Bagh Road, sources said. Since he holds a cabinet rank, he is entitled to a Type 8 bungalow.

The buzz gained ground after Rahul’s sister, Priyanka, visited Bungalow No 5 at Sunehri Bagh Road.

Now a response is awaited from Rahul Gandhi. Till now he has been staying at 10, Janpath residence of his mother Sonia Gandhi. He has been living there even after his disqualification was revoked.

Gandhi, who first became an MP in 2004, lived at 12, Tughlaq Lane till he was his disqualified in 2023.
