PM Modi’s Rally In Srinagar Today Amid Tight Security

Today’s political gathering in Srinagar, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is anticipated to be the largest in Kashmir since Article 370 was removed five years ago. Therefore, this would be his first gathering in Kashmir since 2019. According to the arrangements, Bakshi Stadium, the venue, might not be big enough for the massive crowd that the authorities are anticipating.
The largest security drill in recent memory is part of the preparations. Throughout Srinagar, thousands of police and paramilitary officers have been stationed. Bakshi Stadium’s surroundings have evolved into a fortress of security.

More than 1,100 buses, according to sources, have been put into service to carry people to the stadium. Approximately one hundred buses have been taken from a prestigious Srinagar school.

Ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, the rally plays a part in the BJP’s bigger story. The party has already made the removal of Article 370 a top priority for the upcoming election, having set a goal of 370 Lok Sabha seats.

Two lakh people are expected to attend, according to the BJP, and this large turnout will support PM Modi’s development agenda and the repeal of Article 370.

Individuals from distant locations in the Valley and various districts of the Jammu region have already arrived in Srinagar. Enormous preparations have been made for their lodging and meals.

Security organizations have confirmed the antecedents of every participant. Passes were only issued following security verifications, and even journalists covering the rally had to go through inspection.

Numerous roads in Srinagar were closed to regular traffic, prompting the issuance of a traffic advisory. In anticipation of the Prime Minister’s visit, numerous schools have been closed. Kashmir University’s exams scheduled for March 7 have been postponed.
