PM Modi Departs for France and US; To Co-Chair AI Summit with President Macron

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday issued a statement ahead of his departure for France and the United States, emphasizing his commitment to working with French President Emmanuel Macron and US President Donald Trump to shape a better future for the world.

PM Modi will embark on a three-day visit to France from February 10 to 12, where he will co-chair the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Action Summit alongside President Macron. The summit will bring together global leaders and technology industry giants to deliberate on AI’s role in fostering innovation and ensuring its application for the greater public good in an inclusive, secure, and trustworthy manner.

“At the invitation of President Macron, I will be visiting France from 10 to 12 February. In Paris, I look forward to co-chairing the AI Action Summit, a gathering of world leaders and global tech CEOs, where we will exchange views on a collaborative approach to AI technology for innovation and larger public good in an inclusive, secure, and trustworthy manner,” the Prime Minister said in a statement.

The bilateral discussions during PM Modi’s visit will focus on reviewing progress on the 2047 Horizon Roadmap, a strategic framework for India-France relations. As part of his itinerary, he will also visit the historic city of Marseille, where he will inaugurate the first Indian Consulate in France. Additionally, the Prime Minister will tour the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER) project, a multinational scientific initiative in which India is a key participant, aimed at advancing fusion energy for global benefit.

In a significant gesture of historical remembrance, PM Modi will pay tribute to Indian soldiers who sacrificed their lives in the World Wars at the Mazargues War Cemetery in Marseille. During his visit, he and President Macron will engage in both restricted and delegation-level discussions, further strengthening the Indo-French strategic partnership. Following his engagements in France, PM Modi will proceed to the United States for high-level meetings, continuing his diplomatic outreach with global leaders
