Munawar Faruqui, a stand-up comedian, was named the season 17 winner of the reality show “Bigg Boss” on Sunday. Salman Khan, Bollywood actor and show host, declared 32-year-old Faruqui the winner. He won a car and a ₹50 lakh cash prize.
In the live voting final, where Bollywood stars Ajay Devgn and R Madhavan were the special guests, Munawar defeated actor Abhishek Kumar.
Actors Ankita Lokhande and Mannara Chopra, TV actor Abhishek Sharma and YouTuber Arun Srikanth Mahashetty were the other contestants who were competing for the trophy in the finale.
In 2022, Faruqui won season one of the reality TV show “Lock Upp”, which was hosted by actor Kangana Ranaut.
Munawar Faruqui, a rapper and stand-up comedian on YouTube, belongs to Junagadh, Gujarat. Faruqui and divorced his wife in 2022 and has a five-year-old son. He is presently seeing Nazila Sitaishi, a social media influencer.
He first gained notoriety in 2021 when, following accusations of offending religious feelings, he was jailed for a month after making comments about Hindu deities during a stand-up performance.
After receiving threats from right-wing organizations, the comedian canceled 12 of his shows in less than two months, causing outrage and leading him to declare he would give up comedy.
