Amidst the controversy over Marathi in Maharashtra, on Tuesday morning, the police detained many activists including Maharashtra Navnirman Sena’s (MNS) Thane-Palghar chief Avinash Jadhav. These activists, led by Jadhav, were going to hold a rally in response to the traders’ protest in Thane’s Bhayander. The police had not given permission for this rally.
