A gruesome murder case has come to light in Meerut, where a woman and her lover allegedly killed her husband, dismembered his body into 15 pieces, and sealed the remains in a drum filled with cement.

According to police reports, the victim, 29-year-old Merchant Navy officer Saurabh Rajput, had returned from London to surprise his wife, Muskan (27), on her birthday. However, he was brutally murdered on March 4. The crime was discovered in Indira Nagar after neighbors reported a foul smell. Upon investigation, authorities found that Saurabh had been missing since the same date.

Following suspicion, the police detained Muskan and her lover, Sahil (25). During interrogation, both confessed to stabbing Saurabh to death, cutting his body into pieces, and concealing it in a cement-filled drum.

Authorities registered a case based on a complaint from the victim’s family. His body has been sent for post-mortem, and both accused have been arrested, confirmed Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Ayush Vikram Singh.

Saurabh’s family revealed that Muskan attempted to mislead them by sending messages from his phone after the murder. Shockingly, after committing the crime, she and Sahil went on a vacation to a hill station, the police said.

Saurabh and Muskan had a love marriage in 2016, despite opposition from their families. The couple lived separately in a rented house in Indira Nagar Phase 1 with their three-year-old daughter.
