A 30-year-old delivery man, Bharat Sahu, was allegedly murdered after delivering an iPhone worth Rs 1.5 lakh in Lucknow. The incident occurred when Sahu, from Nishatganj, went to deliver the phone, ordered on Flipkart with a Cash on Delivery (COD) payment option, to the accused customer, Gajanan.

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Shashank Singh, Gajanan, a resident of Chinhat, and his accomplice strangled Sahu on September 23 and disposed of his body in the Indira Canal. When Sahu did not return home, his family filed a missing person complaint on September 25.

Police traced Sahu’s location and scanned his call records, leading them to Gajanan’s friend, Akash. Upon interrogation, Akash confessed to the crime. Authorities have not yet located the victim’s body, but a team from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) is currently searching the canal.

Further investigations are underway as police continue to search for Sahu’s remains.
