In a chilling case that has shocked the city, a physiotherapist has been arrested for allegedly murdering his wife and two young daughters at the behest of his girlfriend. The accused, 32-year-old Boda Praveen, managed to evade detection for almost 45 days while living a seemingly normal life with his girlfriend, Soni Francis.
The incident came to light when Praveen allegedly killed his wife, Kumari (29), and daughters, Krishika (5) and Kritika (3), on May 28. He then attempted to stage the murders as a car accident. According to the police, Praveen administered a high dose of an anaesthetic injection to his wife, followed by suffocating his daughters in the front seat of the car.
Praveen’s facade of innocence began to crumble when investigators found needle marks on Kumari’s body. “There were no other injuries found on the bodies of Kumari and the kids,” said Kondal Rao, Station House Officer of Raghunathapalem Police Station in Khammam District. “After the postmortem, we handed over the dead bodies to their family members and immediately began our investigation.”
A key piece of evidence was discovered when the police found an empty syringe in the car, which was sent to a forensic laboratory for analysis. As Praveen continued his routine life working as a physiotherapist at Germanten Hospital in Attapur, Hyderabad, the investigation progressed quietly.
Sources revealed that Praveen had been living in a separate rented house with his girlfriend, Soni Francis, a nurse at the same hospital, displaying no signs of remorse. “Praveen felt he was completely safe as we didn’t even call him for almost 45 days. He was under the impression that he was out of the case as we initially registered it as an accident,” said SHO Rao.
The breakthrough came when the forensic report confirmed the suspicions surrounding the syringe. The police swiftly arrested Praveen in the Attapur area, uncovering the full extent of his heinous actions.
Praveen has been sent to judicial remand, and the case continues to be under investigation. The chilling details of this case have left the community in shock, raising concerns about the depths of human depravity and the facade of normalcy that can mask the most sinister crimes.
