HM Amit Shah Slams Cong, Says, It Has SDPI’s Support, Cong’s Venugopal Denies Allegation

Union Home Minister Amit Shah attacked the Congress on Tuesday after the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) pledged to back the UDF in Kerala, claiming that the grand old party has been funding anti-India campaigns for a number of years and does not believe in India’s sovereignty.

During his roadshow in Ramanagara, Karnataka, the Home Minister said he is not surprised to see Congress receiving support from SDPI.

“I am not surprised to learn that SDPI backs Congress. For a number of years, Congress has supported anti-India campaigns with the help of communal forces. “Being an SDPI supporter is equivalent to not believing in India’s sovereignty,” he declared.

The banned Popular Front of India’s political wing, the SDPI, has declared that it will back the Congress-led UDF in the Kerala Lok Sabha elections. State President of the SDPI, Muvattupuzha Ashraf Moulavi, stated that while the party has fielded eighteen candidates across the nation, it has not fielded any in Kerala.
On Tuesday, however, the Congress chose not to express clearly whether or not they would accept the SDPI’s offer of support. The Congress party has never asked for assistance from the SDPI, according to AICC General Secretary K C Venugopal, who is also running for Lok Sabha in the Alappuzha constituency. There has also been no discussion about this matter.

Congress which has seen declining fortunes in the Lok Sabha elections ever since 2014, it won 44 seats in that year, and in 2019, the party won 54 seats hopes to do well in Kerala.

“Modi has appealed to the people to help NDA win more than 400 seats in the upcoming election,” the Home Minister continued. The Indian economy has grown from being the eleventh largest to the fifth largest under Modi’s direction. In the event that Modi ji wins a third term as prime minister, his goal is for the Indian economy to rank third in the world.
