Helicopter Crash in Pune Kills Three, Investigation Underway

A tragic helicopter crash in Pune claimed the lives of three individuals early Wednesday morning. The chopper, which was en route to Juhu in Mumbai, crashed near a hilly terrain in Bavdhan, a residential suburb of Pune, shortly after taking off from the Oxford Golf Course helipad at approximately 7:35 a.m.

The helicopter, owned by a Delhi-based private aviation firm, was reportedly carrying two pilots and one passenger. All three occupants were killed in the crash, according to the police. The incident occurred in foggy weather conditions, though the cause of the crash has yet to be determined.

“Our teams, along with fire department vehicles, have reached the spot,” said Vinay Kumar Choubey, Pimpri Chinchwad’s Commissioner of Police. Eyewitness reports indicate that the helicopter caught fire after the crash.

Emergency responders, including two ambulances and four fire tenders, were dispatched to the scene immediately after the crash. An investigation into the cause of the accident is underway, with authorities examining various factors, including the weather.

This incident comes just weeks after another helicopter crash near Paud village in Pune, in which four people were injured while flying from Mumbai to Hyderabad.
