    Case Registered Against Infosys Co-Founder and Former IISc Director Under SC/ST Act

    A case has been registered against Infosys co-founder Senapathy Kris Gopalakrishnan, former Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Director Balaram, and 16 others under the Prevention of SC/ST Atrocities Act. The case was filed at the Sadashiva Nagar police station following directions from the 71st City Civil and Sessions Court (CCH), according to a report by news agency PTI.

    The complainant, a former faculty member at the Centre for Sustainable Technology at IISc, belongs to the tribal Bovi community. He alleged that in 2014, he was falsely implicated in a honey trap case, leading to his dismissal from service. The complainant further accused the individuals of subjecting him to casteist abuse and threats.

    Apart from Gopalakrishnan and Balaram, the other individuals named in the case include Govindan Rangarajan, Sridhar Warrier, Sandya Vishwswaraih, Hari K V S, Dasappa, Balaram P, Hemalata Mhishi, Chattopadyaya K, Pradeep D Sawkar, and Manoharan.

    The complainant’s allegations have brought significant attention to the case, which is being investigated under provisions of the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. Further developments are awaited as the investigation unfolds.
