Buddha Purnima Bank Holiday: On May 23, Banks In These 18 States Will Be Closed

Buddha Purnima Bank Holiday: In accordance with the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) list of holidays, private and public sector banks will be closed on May 23 in observance of Buddha Purnima in some states. Digital banking services will be accessible in the states where banks are closed on Buddha Purnima, despite the fact that banks will be closed.

The following states will have their banks closed: West Bengal, Delhi, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Himachal Pradesh, Tripura, Maharashtra, Mizoram, Madhya Pradesh, Chandigarh, Uttarakhand, Arunachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Jammu and Kashmir.
Agartala, Aizawl, Belapur, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Dehradun, Itanagar, Jammu, Kanpur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi, Raipur, Ranchi, Shimla, and Srinagar are among the other cities where banks will be closed.

In May 2024, banks will be closed for 14 days in accordance with the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) holiday schedule. These include Rabindranath Tagore’s birthday, Maharashtra Din/May Day (Labour Day), the Lok Sabha General Elections of 2024, Basava Jayanti/Akshaya Tritiya, State Day, Buddha Pournima, and Nazrul Jayanti. Nevertheless, different states may observe these holidays differently.
