BJP to File Complaint with ACB Over AAP’s Horse-Trading Allegations

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is set to file a complaint with the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in response to allegations made by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) regarding horse-trading. The move comes after AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal accused the BJP of attempting to bribe AAP members ahead of the Delhi Assembly election results.

On Thursday, Kejriwal claimed that 16 AAP candidates received calls from BJP representatives, each being offered Rs 15 crore to switch sides. The Delhi Chief Minister took to social media platform X to share his concerns, stating, “Some agencies are showing that the abusive party is getting more than 55 seats. In the last two hours, 16 of our candidates have received calls that if they leave AAP and join their party, they will make them ministers and will give Rs. 15 crores to each of them.”

Questioning the need for such offers, Kejriwal added, “If his party is getting more than 55 seats then what is the need for him to call our candidates? Obviously, these fake surveys have been conducted with the sole purpose of creating this atmosphere to break down some candidates. But not even one of our men will break down.”

AAP leader Mukesh Ahlawat also backed the allegations, claiming that he, too, received a similar call. Sharing a screenshot of the caller’s number, Ahlawat stated on X, “I received a call from this number. He said that their government is being formed, they will make me a minister and also give 15 crores. ‘Leave AAP and come with us.’”

Expressing his loyalty to AAP, Ahlawat added, “I want to tell them that the respect that Kejriwal ji and the ‘AAP’ party have given me, I will not leave my party until my last breath.”

The controversy erupts just days before the Delhi Assembly election results, scheduled to be announced on February 8. Voting for all 70 Assembly constituencies took place on February 5. The allegations have further intensified the political battle in the capital, with BJP now planning to take legal action against AAP’s claims.
