Bihar CM Nitish Kumar: Will Never Leave NDA Again

In their first meeting since the Janata Dal (United) president left the Opposition INDIA bloc last month and joined the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA), Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday. Kumar also reaffirmed his commitment to never leave the NDA.
The JD(U) leader later made brief comments to reporters, recalling his affiliation with the BJP from 1995 until his 2013 breakup. He said he may have left the party twice, but he will never do so again.”Never now. We will remain here (in the NDA),” he said.

After meeting with PM Modi, Nitish Kumar is reported to have met BJP president JP Nadda and Home Minister Amit Shah, with whom he discussed a variety of Bihar-related political and governance matters.

The meetings came five days ahead of the Nitish Kumar government facing a trust vote in the Assembly on February 12. Kumar had taken oath with eight ministers, three each from the BJP and the JD(U), and an expansion of the council of ministers is on the cards.
