Former South Africa captain AB de Villiers revealed a shocking news that star batsman Virat Kohli and his wife Anushka Sharma are expecting their second child, casting doubt on the player’s ability to play the rest of the Test series against England.
De Villiers has now claimed that he made a mistake, adding that the news of Virat and Anushka expecting their second child is not true.
“Cricket comes second, family first. I had committed a grave error on my YouTube account. That information was completely false and inaccurate. In my opinion, Virat’s family’s best interests should come first. My only option is to wish him well, as nobody knows what’s going on there. De Villiers told Hindi news daily Dainik Bhaskar, “I hope he can come back stronger, better, and fresh from this, whatever the reason for his break.”
On his Youtube channel, he had first said, “Yes, his second child is on the way. Yes, it’s family time and things are important to him. If you are not true and genuine to yourself, you lose track of what you are here for. I think most people’s priority is family. You can’t judge Virat for that. Yes, we miss him, but he has made the right decision,” he added.
