Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has raised questions regarding the Pulwama incident of February 2019 and the subsequent surgical strikes by the Indian Air Force (IAF) in Pakistan’s Balakot. Reddy expressed skepticism over the veracity of the surgical strikes, stating that there is uncertainty surrounding whether such an operation actually took place.
Reddy also criticized the Intelligence Bureau’s (IB) handling of the Pulwama attack, where over 40 CRPF personnel lost their lives. He accused the Modi-led government of politicizing national security matters and emphasized the need for a change in leadership for the country’s betterment.
Responding to Reddy’s remarks, BJP leader Bandi Sanjay Kumar questioned the Telangana CM’s motives, accusing him of attempting to exonerate Pakistan regarding both the surgical strikes and the Pulwama attack. Kumar highlighted past terror incidents in Hyderabad, attributing them to the Congress party’s failures in ensuring national security.
“The other day, he gets praise from Pakistan newspaper. Today he questions Hon’ble PM Narendra Modi on National security. This Congress which is responsible for Gokul chat, Mecca Masjid, Dilshuknagar, Lumbini Park Bomb blasts in Hyderabad should be last one to speak about national security. Sooner or later congress might say, even these blasts didn’t happen. It’s unfortunate and didn’t expect Telangana CM to question the sacrifices of Indian army just for cheap political mileage,” Bandi stated in an X post.
