At least six people were killed, and 41 others suffered burn injuries in a horrific fire that broke out after a chemical-laden truck collided with an LPG-carrying truck and several other vehicles near a fuel pump on the Jaipur-Ajmer highway. The incident occurred in the Bhankrota area of Jaipur, where the fire quickly spread to the nearby fuel station.
The blaze engulfed several vehicles parked at the station, leading to massive destruction. In response, around 20 fire tenders were dispatched to the site to control the flames. Police and emergency services rushed the injured to Sawai Man Singh Hospital in Jaipur for treatment. Dramatic footage from the scene showed towering flames as fire crews worked to contain the fire.
Following the tragic event, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma visited the hospital and instructed officials to ensure the best medical care for the injured. He expressed his sorrow over the incident, stating, “I am deeply saddened by the loss of lives in the gas tanker fire incident on the Jaipur-Ajmer National Highway. Upon hearing about the incident, I went to SMS Hospital and directed the medical team to provide immediate and necessary treatment to the injured. Rescue operations are continuing, and local authorities and emergency services are fully engaged. I pray for the souls of the departed and strength for their families, as well as a swift recovery for the injured.”
Jaipur’s District Magistrate (DM), Jitendra Soni, confirmed that 41 people had been injured, and efforts to contain the fire were underway. “Around 40 vehicles were involved in the fire.
