Four people have died after a plane with 19 individuals on board crashed during takeoff at Kathmandu’s Tribhuvan International Airport, local media reported on Wednesday. The plane, operated by Saurya Airlines and bound for Pokhara, caught fire around 11 am.

The incident involved a total of 19 people, including crew and technical staff. According to a spokesperson from the airport, the plane skidded off the runway just minutes after takeoff.

Videos from the scene show a large fire with thick smoke billowing from the aircraft. Firefighters are currently on site, working to extinguish the flames.
