YouTuber Gulzar Sheikh Arrested for Dangerous Stunts on Railway Tracks, BJP Leader Labels him a “Rail Jihadi”

The Uttar Pradesh Police have arrested Gulzar Sheikh, a YouTuber known for endangering lives by placing various objects, including cycles, soaps, and stones, on railway tracks for content creation. The arrest, announced by BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla, follows a complaint filed by the Legal Hindu Defence against Sheikh’s perilous activities.

Sheikh, whose YouTube channel “Gulzar Indian Hacker” showcases an array of videos depicting these dangerous stunts, was apprehended by the Railway Protection Force (RPF) from his residence in the village of Khandrauli. The case was registered by RPF Post Unchahar (Lucknow Division) under RPF Post Kunda, which promptly acted on the complaint.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), BJP leader Shehzad Poonawalla referred to Sheikh as a “Rail Jihadi” and confirmed his arrest. Poonawalla expressed gratitude to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the UP Police, and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for their prompt response.

The complaint highlighted violations under sections 147, 145, and 153 of the Railway Act and specific sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita, emphasizing the severe risk of public mischief and potential train derailments posed by Sheikh’s actions. An examination of Sheikh’s YouTube channel reveals a collection of 243 videos, with one short amassing 15 million views. The channel boasts over 235,000 subscribers and a total view count exceeding 137 million.
