Woman, Brother-in-Law Steal Rs 1.5 Crore From Live-In Partner in Fear of Breakup

A bizarre case of betrayal has surfaced in Indore, where a woman, fearing that her live-in partner would leave her, orchestrated a theft with the help of her brother-in-law. The duo stole Rs 1.5 crore in cash, with the brother-in-law disguising himself in a burqa to execute the crime.

The incident occurred in the Palasia police station area on March 13. Shivali Jadon, a beauty parlour owner residing in Shubh Labh Prime Township, reported to the police that four bags, including three belonging to her partner Ankush, had been stolen from her flat. These bags contained Rs 1.5 crore, reportedly linked to a property deal. Upon returning from an errand, she discovered her door broken and the cash missing.

The police swiftly launched an investigation and analyzed CCTV footage, which captured two burqa-clad individuals committing the theft. The probe led to the arrest of one of the suspects, Dhiru Thapa, Shivali’s brother-in-law and a former policeman dismissed from service in 2010 due to criminal activities. Further interrogation revealed that Thapa and Shivali had planned the heist after she confided in him about Ankush storing large sums of money at her residence.

Following the theft, the stolen cash was handed over to an accomplice, Praveen, who remains at large. Meanwhile, Shivali’s sister was left in shock, as she was unaware of the conspiracy. The police are continuing their investigation and questioning the arrested suspects.
