A new development has emerged in the murder case of Saurabh Rajpur, a merchant navy officer, as an audio clip of Muskan Rastogi, his wife and a prime accused, has gone viral on social media.
The WhatsApp voice note, reportedly recorded while Muskan was in Shimla with her lover Sahil Shukla after her husband’s brutal murder, is being widely circulated online. In the clip, Muskan can be heard instructing her cab driver to purchase a cake and inform her via text rather than calling. She further asks him to deliver it to her hotel room, assuring him that he could retrieve it the next morning.
The cake was ordered for Sahil’s birthday on March 11, just days after the gruesome killing of Saurabh on March 4. The couple drugged him, dismembered his body into 15 pieces, and stored it in a drum with the intent of disposing of it. After their arrest, both confessed to the crime and revealed that they had taken a trip to Shimla and Manali post-murder.
Meerut SSP Dr. Vipin Tada had earlier disclosed that the accused struggled to dispose of the remains and left the severed body in the bathroom overnight.
Meanwhile, Muskan’s father has strongly condemned her actions, demanding capital punishment for his daughter. Calling her a threat to society, he insisted that she deserves to be hanged, even suggesting a public execution.
“My daughter killed her husband. She is not fit for society and is dangerous to everyone. She should be hanged till death, and if possible, it should be done live,” he told ANI, urging for a swift verdict in the case.
On the other hand, Muskan’s mother expressed deep regret, stating that her daughter never confided in them. She emphasized the importance of open communication between children and parents, revealing that Muskan had lost 10 kg over two years but never disclosed any problems.
“I want all children to never hide anything from their parents. My daughter made a huge mistake. Had she shared her issues, she wouldn’t be in this situation today,” she lamented.
