Vijay Varma Shares Sunidhi Chauhan Told Him to Stay Away After Pink Screening: ‘I Was Shocked!’

At the grand launch of SCREEN in Mumbai, actor Vijay Varma candidly shared how his portrayal of villainous characters has influenced his real-life interactions. Best known for his roles in films like Darlings, Pink, and the series Dahaad, Varma revealed that playing diabolical men has led to unexpected reactions from people, especially women. He mentioned how “pretty girls and their mothers” have confessed to being scared of him, something that has left him unsettled.

Reflecting on his career, Varma said his journey into playing dark characters began with his minor role in Pink. He recalled attending an all-women screening of the film, where he met several actresses he had admired. “Lots of pretty girls and their mothers have told me they are scared of me, and it did bother me,” he admitted. He also shared an encounter with singer Sunidhi Chauhan at the same screening, where she expressed fear after watching his performance.

Varma’s breakout moment came with his role as Moeen in Gully Boy (2019), which brought him significant attention. Since then, he has been known for intense characters in projects like Darlings (2022), She, Mirzapur, and Dahaad (2023), where he portrayed a serial killer. His powerful performances have earned him a reputation as a rising star in the industry.

Most recently, Vijay starred in the Netflix series IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack, portraying Captain Devi Sharan in a story based on the 1999 hijacking of Indian Airlines Flight 814. The miniseries is adapted from the book Flight into Fear: A Captain’s Story by Captain Devi Sharan and Srinjoy Chowdhury.

On a personal note, Vijay Varma is currently dating actress Tamannaah Bhatia.
