US President Joe Biden’s To Address America On July 25, His First After Ending Re-election Bid

US President Joe Biden will address the country on July 25 for the first ever time after ending his re-election bid for the November 5 Presidential elections.

“Tomorrow evening at 8 PM, I will address the nation from the Oval Office on what lies ahead, and how I will finish the job for the American people,” Biden posted on X.

The 81-year-old politician has been in isolation at his Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, residence since last Wednesday after testing positive for COVID-19. Biden has remained out of the public eye during this period.

A report by The New York Times claimed that the President is likely to return to the White House soon.

Soon after announcing his withdrawal from the 2024 presidential race, Biden endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democratic Party’s new nominee.

The decision followed weeks of intense pressure from fellow Democrats after his poor performance in a presidential debate against his Republican rival and former US president Donald Trump last month.

“Today I want to offer my full support and endorsement for Kamala to be the nominee of our party this year. Democrats — it’s time to come together and beat Trump. Let’s do this,” Biden said in a post on X on Sunday. However, the US President insisted that he will serve the remainder of his term, which ends in January.

“It has been the greatest honor of my life to serve as your President. And while it has been my intention to seek reelection, I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to stand down and to focus solely on fulfilling my duties as President for the remainder of my term,” Biden said in a message to fellow Americans in a six-paragraph open letter posted on social media.
