Uproar Outside Parliament As MP Sarangi Falls, BJP Accuses Rahul Gandhi For It

A political dispute erupted in Parliament today following the injury of BJP MP Pratap Chandra Sarangi during the massive protests by both the ruling BJP and the Opposition. Both parties have shared videos to back their claims, with the BJP accusing Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of arrogance, while the Congress countered with allegations of BJP MPs blocking their members from entering Parliament.

The protests stemmed from a heated debate on the Constitution, sparked by Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s remarks on Tuesday, which the Congress claimed insulted BR Ambedkar, the Dalit icon and architect of the Indian Constitution. In response, the BJP accused the Opposition of misrepresenting Shah’s words and circulating edited videos to mislead the public. This disagreement led to protests on the Parliament premises, with both BJP and Congress MPs taking out marches.

During the protests, tensions escalated at Makar Dwar, where MPs from both sides clashed, raising slogans to outshout each other. It was during this confrontation that MP Sarangi reportedly fell after Congress MP Mukesh Rajput was allegedly pushed by Rahul Gandhi, causing him to topple onto Sarangi. The BJP quickly shared a video showing Rahul Gandhi approaching Sarangi after the fall and walking away. The BJP criticized Gandhi’s actions, calling his response “arrogant” and accusing him of failing to apologize for injuring an elderly MP. Union Minister Bhupender Yadav posted on social media, condemning Gandhi’s behavior as entitled and dismissive.

Meanwhile, the Congress shared its own video, which depicted BJP MPs preventing their counterparts, including Congress leaders Mallikarjun Kharge and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, from entering Parliament. The video showed Congress MPs struggling with BJP members, with some BJP MPs reportedly using sticks to push and shove, especially targeting women MPs. The Congress labeled the BJP’s actions as “hooliganism” and a sign of “dictatorship,” calling it an assault on democracy.

In addition, Congress accused the BJP of using violence to stifle their protest and prevent their entry into the parliamentary building. Congress leader Giriraj Singh condemned the incident, calling the day a “black day” for Indian democracy. The political row continues to escalate as both sides argue over the interpretation of events and the propriety of each other’s conduct.
