United States National Intelligence Director Tulsi Gabbard stated on Tuesday that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi shares a commitment to peace similar to that of former US President Donald Trump.

Speaking at the Raisina Dialogue 2025 in New Delhi during her two-and-a-half-day visit to India, Gabbard remarked, “Just like President Trump, PM Modi is dedicated to peace.”

She clarified that Trump’s “America First” policy should not be misinterpreted as isolationism. “It would be a mistake to assume that prioritizing America First means adopting an isolationist stance. That assumption stems from a misunderstanding that the only way to engage globally is through conflict. President Trump aims to be remembered as a peacemaker and unifier,” she explained.

Highlighting US-India ties, Gabbard noted that during PM Modi’s visit to Washington, Trump saw significant potential in cybersecurity and artificial intelligence to bolster security interests. She emphasized that Modi’s early visit to Washington reflected both personal friendship and shared priorities between the two leaders.

“The commitment to strategic cooperation has been evident from day one. Both teams, including our cabinet, have been actively engaged. Personally, right after my appointment, I was on a flight to a security conference in Munich. Strengthening strategic cooperation remains a top priority,” Gabbard said.

Concluding her address, she invoked the spirit of Aloha, underscoring the importance of honesty and partnership in fostering a peaceful and prosperous world. “By coming together in this shared spirit, we can ensure a brighter future for all,” she said.
