Truth Will Prevail’: Prajwal Revanna Says Not In Bengaluru To Join Probe, CM Wants His Passport Cancelled

In the midst of a burgeoning scandal, suspended JD(S) leader and Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna has broken his silence, asserting his innocence and claiming that the truth will soon come to light. The controversy revolves around alleged obscene videos implicating him and his father, JD(S) MLA HD Revanna.

Prajwal Revanna, in a statement shared via social media, informed the CID Bengaluru of his absence from the city and expressed confidence in the investigative process. His lawyer conveyed that Prajwal requires seven days to cooperate with the investigation, citing prior engagements.

The situation escalated as the Special Investigation Team (SIT) seized Prajwal’s former driver’s phone for data retrieval related to the purported videos. The driver claimed to have handed the videos to Karnataka BJP leader Devaraje Gowda, who alleged he had warned his party about the accusations against Prajwal prior to the alliance with JD(S).

Contrary to this, the BJP leadership denied receiving any such warning. Meanwhile, the SIT issued a notice to Prajwal and his father to appear for investigation within 24 hours. Both have been booked under several sections of the Indian Penal Code related to sexual abuse and stalking.

Amidst the controversy, Prajwal’s lawyer emphasized his client’s anticipation of such allegations and stated that Prajwal had taken legal action preemptively by filing a civil suit. The JD(S) suspended Prajwal pending the completion of the SIT investigation.

In a significant development, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to intervene, alleging that Prajwal had fled the country on his diplomatic passport. He called for the cancellation of Prajwal’s diplomatic passport and swift action to ensure his return to face legal proceedings.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah criticized the Congress-led state government for allowing Prajwal to flee, emphasizing BJP’s stance against crimes targeting women. However, BJP leaders maintained that the scandal would not affect the party’s electoral prospects.
