The parents of trainee IAS officer Pooja Khedkar are currently evading authorities after a video surfaced online showing her mother, Manorama Khedkar, threatening a farmer with a gun. The incident has led to the filing of an FIR against Pooja Khedkar’s parents for allegedly threatening a local farmer.
Pune Rural Superintendent of Police (SP) Pankaj Deshmukh confirmed that the accused are avoiding contact with the authorities. “The accused are on the run, we are trying to contact them but they are not reachable as their phones are switched off. We have also tried to reach their residence but they are not available,” Deshmukh told ANI.
Several teams, including officials from the local crime branch and local police stations, are actively searching for the Khedkars in Pune and nearby areas where they are known to have farmhouses and other residences. “If found, we will question them and take action accordingly,” Deshmukh added.
This development follows shortly after Pooja Khedkar’s transfer from Pune to Washim due to allegations of misuse of power. The controversy intensified when an old video of Manorama Khedkar surfaced online, showing her waving a pistol at farmers. The police are now investigating whether Manorama had a license for the weapon.
The situation remains tense as authorities continue their search for the accused, with efforts focused on ensuring accountability and addressing the allegations of threats and misuse of power.
