Three Khalistani Terrorists Killed in Police Encounter in Uttar Pradesh’s Pilibhit

In a significant operation, three Khalistani terrorists accused of attacking a police post in Punjab’s Gurdaspur were killed in an encounter with the police early Monday morning.

The joint operation, carried out by the Punjab Police and Uttar Pradesh Police, targeted members of the Khalistani Commandos Force. The slain terrorists were identified as Gurvinder Singh, Virender Singh alias Ravi, and Jaspreet Singh alias Pratap Singh, all residents of Gurdaspur, Punjab.

The police reported that the trio had thrown grenades and bombs at a police station in Gurdaspur prior to fleeing. Acting on intelligence regarding their presence in the Puranpur area of Pilibhit, both state police forces coordinated to launch a joint offensive.

Pilibhit Superintendent of Police (SP) Avinash Pandey detailed the sequence of events, explaining that the encounter began when the police teams intercepted the terrorists. “Upon being stopped, the terrorists opened fire on the police, forcing the teams to retaliate,” said SP Pandey.

The gunfight resulted in the terrorists sustaining critical injuries. They were rushed to the District Hospital, where doctors declared them dead on arrival.

Two police constables, Sumit and Shahnawaz, were injured during the encounter and are currently undergoing treatment.

The operation also led to the recovery of a cache of arms, including two AK-47 rifles, two Glock pistols, and several rounds of ammunition.

The police statement emphasized the coordination between Punjab and Uttar Pradesh forces in neutralizing the threat posed by the terrorists. The encounter marks a significant blow to the Khalistani Commandos Force and highlights the effectiveness of inter-state cooperation in tackling organized crime and terrorism.
