In a much-anticipated interview with Tesla CEO Elon Musk, former US President Donald Trump praised Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping, stating that “they’re at the top of the game” and emphasizing the need for the US to have a strong leader to effectively counter them. Trump described Putin and Xi’s leadership as driven by a “different form of love” for their respective countries.
Trump claimed that he had a good relationship with Putin during his presidency, saying, “I got along with Putin very well, and he respected me. We would talk about Ukraine. It was the apple of his eye. But I told him don’t do it.” His remarks highlighted his belief that his diplomatic approach was effective in managing relations with Russia, particularly concerning the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
The interview, intended to bolster Trump’s flagging campaign, was briefly disrupted by what Musk described as a “massive DDOS attack” on X, the social media platform previously known as Twitter. A DDOS, or denial-of-service attack, is a type of cyber attack that overwhelms a server or network with excessive traffic, causing disruptions or shutdowns.
