The Vice Presidential election will be held on 9 September. Nominations for the post of Vice President will be filed by 21 August. Jagdeep Dhankhar suddenly resigned from the post of Vice President on the night of 21 July. President Draupadi Murmu accepted Dhankhar’s resignation on 22 July. The tenure of 74-year-old Dhankhar was till 10 August 2027.
