The 56th meeting of the GST Council began today in New Delhi. In this two-day meeting, chaired by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, discussions are going on on proposals and reforms of Goods and Services Tax (GST) rates. The central government is proposing to implement two slabs of 5% and 18% to simplify the existing structure of tax.
