Days after Pavithra Jayaram’s Death, Co-actor Chandrakanth Dies by Suicide

The Telugu television industry is mourning the loss of actor Chandrakanth, widely known as Chandu, who reportedly died by suicide at his home in Alkapur, Telangana. This heart-wrenching news comes on the heels of the recent tragic death of his co-star and close friend, Pavithra Jayaram, in a road accident.

Chandrakanth, who gained fame for his role in the popular TV series Trinayani, was found deceased at his residence in Alkapur, Rangareddy District. The 32-year-old actor had been battling severe depression following the untimely demise of Pavithra Jayaram, according to a statement given to the police by his father.

Pavithra Jayaram, a beloved TV personality, tragically lost her life on Sunday, May 12, in Hyderabad, when a bus collided with the car she was traveling in. At the time of the accident, Pavithra was accompanied by her sister, Apeksha, the driver Srikant, and Chandrakanth. Reports suggest that Chandrakanth was deeply affected by the accident, which not only claimed the life of Pavithra but also left a profound impact on him emotionally and mentally.

The bond between Chandrakanth and Pavithra was evident in his heartfelt tributes on social media. His final Instagram post, a poignant homage to Pavithra, read: “Papa netho digina last pic raa. not able to digest to left me alone, okasari mama aniii piluveee plsss @pavithrajayaram_chandar. My Pavi is no more, pls ra come back plsss.” (Papa, this is the last picture we took together. I can’t bear being without you. Just call me ‘mama’ once please @pavithrajayaram_chandar. My beloved Pavi is gone, please come back). His Instagram profile is filled with cherished memories captured with Pavithra, indicating a close and possibly romantic relationship between the two.

Chandrakanth’s father revealed that his son had been struggling with depression in the days leading up to his death. The loss of his dear friend Pavithra, with whom he shared a deep bond, proved to be an overwhelming blow.

Pavithra, who had been previously married and had two children, was a renowned figure in Telugu television.
