Tejashwi Yadav, Nitish On Same Flight To Plan Their Next Move

The NDA and the India bloc allies will hold important meetings today in an attempt to gather the necessary numbers to form the government, since the BJP was denied a two-third majority in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

In the 543-member Parliament, the BJP-led NDA won 294 seats, which is 22 more than the crucial 272. With 234 votes, the INDIA Opposition bloc finished 38 points short of the majority. The keys to power are in the hands of two NDA allies: Chandrababu Naidu of the TDP and Nitish Kumar of the JDU. It is understood that INDIA leaders contacted veterans of the coalition era in an attempt to win them over to the Opposition bloc, even though the two ran for office in an alliance with the BJP. As the numbers mount, India requires the backing of a number of unaligned MPs in addition to JDU and TDP in order to secure a majority.

Leaders of the NDA and INDIA alliances are traveling to Delhi the day following the results to hold talks about the next steps. It’s interesting to note that RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, an ally of India, and Nitish Kumar, who is infamous for his political vacillations, will travel on the same flight. When Mr. Kumar and Mr. Yadav, his erstwhile ally, fly to Delhi for different meetings, they will be on the same aircraft.
JDU leader and close aide to Nitish Kumar, KC Tyagi, told news agency ANI yesterday that the party will remain in the NDA and dismissed rumors that it would join the INDIA bloc. The other kingmaker, Mr. Naidu, praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the NDA’s impressive performance in Andhra Pradesh and stated that the BJP and TDP would work together to rebuild the state.

It is important to remember, though, that in the past, both of these leaders have voiced harsh criticism of Prime Minister Modi and the BJP. Before his last-minute switch, Nitish Kumar actually spearheaded the discussions to create an opposition front against the BJP.

Akhilesh Yadav, the leader of the Samajwadi Party, Tejashwi Yadav, Uddhav Thackeray of the RJD, Sharad Pawar, and MK Stalin, the president of the DMK, are among the Indian leaders who are traveling to the nation’s capital for the important summit. Leaders on the left will attend the meeting as well.

Regarding the NDA, Chandrababu Naidu and Nitish Kumar are arriving soon. Also, the chief minister of Maharashtra and leader of the Shiv Sena Eknath Shinde, chief of the Hindustam Awam Morcha Jitan Ram Manjhi, chief of the Jana Sena Pawan Kalyan, leader of the LJP Chirag Paswan, and leader of the JDS HD Kumaraswamy are reaching Delhi anytime in the day.
