Teenager Arrested for Allegedly Murdering Mother Over Breakfast Dispute in Bengaluru

In a shocking turn of events, a 17-year-old boy was apprehended by the police in KR Puram for the alleged murder of his mother, Nethra, after a heated argument over breakfast.

The tragic incident unfolded in Justice Bheemaiah Layout, KR Puram, where the 40-year-old victim, employed at a tech park in Whitefield, lived with her son. The accused, a student pursuing a diploma at a private college in Mulbagal, confessed to the crime at the local police station on Friday.

According to authorities, the dispute arose when the boy, who had skipped dinner the previous night, requested his mother to serve him breakfast as he prepared for classes on Friday morning. However, she refused, leading to a heated argument. The situation escalated when Nethra, frustrated, allegedly told her son that he was not her son.

In a fit of rage, the juvenile reportedly struck his mother on the head with an iron rod, resulting in her immediate death. The teenager, burdened with guilt, walked to the police station and admitted to the crime later that day.

The victim, Nethra, originally from Mulbagal taluk in Kolar district, leaves behind a farming husband and an elder daughter pursuing medical studies in Georgia. The accused’s father works as a farmer in the same district.
