Tamannaah Bhatia Removes Radha Photoshoot After Backlash: ‘Stop Sexualizing Sacred Relationship’

Bollywood actress Tamannaah Bhatia recently found herself at the center of controversy after portraying the Hindu goddess Radha in a campaign for designer Karan Torani. The photoshoot, part of Torani’s digital campaign Leela: The Illusion of Love, featured Tamannaah in an orange saree, symbolizing festive elegance. However, the campaign soon drew ire from a significant portion of netizens, who accused both the actress and the designer of “sexualizing” Radha, a revered deity in Hindu mythology.

The backlash quickly escalated, with social media users launching an online campaign against the duo. One outraged comment read, “Stop sexualising the purest relationship of our beloved Radha Rani and Shree Krishna for your sales!”

In response to the growing criticism, both Tamannaah and Karan Torani deleted the photoshoot from their respective Instagram profiles.

Reflecting on her experience, Tamannaah had shared her thoughts prior to the controversy, stating, “There were times when I felt a transcendent connection while embodying Radha, and a divine force seemed to be behind it all.” She also praised Torani as a “creative genius.”

On the professional front, Tamannaah is basking in the success of her performance in the song “Aaj Ki Raat” from Stree 2. The actress wowed viewers with her dance moves, despite shooting in freezing temperatures. Speaking about the experience, Tamannaah said, “It was challenging but fun. What makes this song special is that I shot it on my birthday with the warm team of Stree 2.”

As Tamannaah navigates the backlash from the Radha campaign, her fans continue to support her as she takes on new projects in the entertainment industry.
