The Supreme Court on Wednesday heard for the seventh consecutive day the petitions of the states seeking a deadline for the President’s and Governor’s assent to the bills passed by the Assembly. The judges said that the Governor cannot keep the bills pending indefinitely. The governments of West Bengal, Telangana and Himachal opposed the discretionary power to hold back the bills.
