NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court has directed the Centre to formulate a “no-fault compensation policy” for individuals suffering from serious adverse events (AEFI) after COVID-19 vaccination. A bench of Justices Vikram Nath and Sandeep Mehta also ordered that vaccine side-effect data be periodically placed in the public domain. However, the court refused to appoint a separate expert panel to investigate side effects, citing existing surveillance mechanisms.
