Sunita Kejriwal Launches ‘Kejriwal Ko Aashirwaad Do’ Campaign Amidst ED Custody

In a bid to garner support for her husband, Sunita Kejriwal launched the ‘Kejriwal Ko Aashirwaad Do’ campaign, encouraging backers of Arvind Kejriwal to send messages of support via a designated WhatsApp number. This move comes amidst the ongoing custody of the Delhi Chief Minister by the Enforcement Directorate.

Earlier in the day, addressing a press conference, Delhi Minister Atishi criticized the ED, alleging that the agency’s intention behind seeking access to Kejriwal’s phone was to unveil AAP’s strategy for the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections. Atishi’s statements came after the ED argued in court for access to Kejriwal’s phone, claiming that he had refused to provide its password.

Adding to the controversy, Sunita Kejriwal had on Thursday asserted that her husband was facing harassment and his health was deteriorating while in ED custody. However, the Delhi High Court dismissed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) seeking Arvind Kejriwal’s removal from the Chief Ministerial post due to his arrest, stating that there was no legal impediment to governing from jail.

During the court proceedings, Kejriwal accused the ED of instigating an excise scam subsequent to their investigation, alleging that the agency’s motives were to undermine the Aam Aadmi Party and label it as corrupt. The court extended Kejriwal’s ED custody till April 1, citing sufficient grounds provided by the agency for further interrogation.

Meanwhile, international attention on the situation escalated as the United Nations expressed hope for the protection of democratic rights, emphasizing the importance of free and fair elections.
