Sixth Accused Arrested in Salman Khan Residence Firing Case

Mumbai Crime Branch has apprehended the sixth accused linked to the firing incident at Bollywood actor Salman Khan’s residence last month. Identified as Harpal Singh, a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, he was captured in Fatehabad, Haryana, on Tuesday.

34-year-old Harpal Singh hails from Fatehabad, Haryana, and is reported to be associated with the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

Singh’s arrest comes as the sixth in connection to the incident that occurred on April 14, where two assailants on motorcycles opened fire outside Khan’s residence situated in Mumbai’s Bandra area, before fleeing the scene. The Mumbai Crime Branch, in coordination with Haryana authorities, executed the arrest on Monday evening.

According to official sources, Singh’s name surfaced during the interrogation of another accused, Mohammed Rafique Chowdhary, also a member of the Bishnoi gang, who was apprehended earlier this month in relation to the same firing incident. It is alleged that Singh had instructed Chowdhary to conduct reconnaissance around Khan’s residence and had provided financial support amounting to Rs 2-3 lakh for the operation.

Singh was swiftly transported to Mumbai and is slated to be produced before the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) court later today for further legal proceedings.

The mastermind behind the attack, Lawrence Bishnoi, currently incarcerated in Gujarat’s Sabarmati central prison, along with his younger brother Anmol Bishnoi, purportedly residing in either the US or Canada, have been implicated in the firing case.
