Narendra Modi will be sworn in as India’s Prime Minister for the third consecutive term on June 9, according to sources. This historic achievement places Modi alongside Jawaharlal Nehru, India’s first prime minister, as the only leaders to serve three consecutive terms.
Known for his innovative approaches, Modi’s upcoming oath-taking ceremony will stand out due to a unique list of invitees. While political leaders from both the ruling party and the opposition will be present, the ceremony will also feature notable figures from the film and sports industries, as well as top industrialists and businessmen.
However, what truly sets this event apart is Modi’s inclusion of special invitees who have benefited from central government schemes. Among these invitees are members of the transgender community, laborers who worked on the Central Vista project, and sanitation workers. Additionally, individuals who contributed to key railway projects like the Vande Bharat trains and the Metro project, as well as those involved in various initiatives under the Viksit Bharat (Developed India) vision, have been invited.
A source close to the Prime Minister’s office said, “The prime minister respects the contributions of every individual involved in building a strong nation. Gone are the days when invites were sent only to VIPs and VVIPs. Our prime minister considers those who never get their due recognition as VIP guests.”
The source further revealed that ten special invitees from the aforementioned categories have been selected to witness the ceremony. Modi’s popularity across different strata of society is evident, and he has always acknowledged and honored those who have worked for India’s betterment.
